X50V and Heat

For those that use the wall charger to charge your unit, does the back (battery area) of your unit get hot? Thanks

Mine stays at room temperature, does not get hot at all.
Running the Axim for a long period of time, the battery does get warm.

Sure is a skinny battery! Size of a CF card.

Mine gets hot too under heavy use (streaming audio while doing skype). I don't know if the heat can damage the unit over long period of time.

It Does get hot while charging but after the led light is green (ie fully charged) the temperature drops - no worries.

Just to be associated with the remarks of the previous speakers, mine also gets hot whilst charging if it's lying flat. I usually rest it on it's top end whilst charging (securely, I might add!! Not just balanced on a cupboard or anything) which seemed to keep it slightly cooler.

Sounds perfectly natural from all these answers, so I'm even less worried that before.

the back of mine gets very warm, but, well, its an electrical device with a processor...its going to be inefficient and radiate heat.

Wifi, CPU at 624 use it for a while = very hot

Cpu on auto, wifi, listening to music in pocket, then in the car on the way home = VeRRY hot and usually results in a crash and memory error LOL

What have I learned? If it gets too hot, you will get a memory error... just fix it and continue. If you have a secondary battery, swap it in and use it as a CPU heatsink ;)
