Restoring files on X51v

Will be getting my X51v tomorrow and I will back up my files on my X50v and my question is ...can I restore those files on my X51V without any problems after having installed the new version of active sync 4.0 on my desktop.

Files can be restore but programs may not work properly. Just try and see if it works. The worst case scenario would be to hard reset the X51.

You should be able to stuff like documents but doing a full restore is said to not work because you are going across two different operating systems. Same thing with trying to restore 3rd part applicatioins. from what I have read you will be far better off installing everyting from scratch instead of trying to sort out the problems you will have from restoring.

The big question is, what will happen when you hard reset an X51v? Since all the files are basically in BIS, performing a hard reset will potentially not fix the device like it did in WM2003SE.

Now you'll upset all those X51v owners. I guess you'll have to manually delete them then start over.

There is still an option that let you retore EVERYTHING back to its original state, which is like a hard reset.
