using x30 624 backup to activate a new x50v

I just received a new X50v and i use to have a X30 624.

I have a backup of my X30 on a SD card, can i use this backup to
activate my new X50

if by "activate" you mean put all of the information from your backup onto your x50, then probably not. I'm pretty sure i tried the same thing and got a message that said "this backup was meant for another device" or something along those lines. What i would try, though, is putting all of your programs onto your SD card, and then once the card is in the x50, make shortcuts for them using file explorer. That's probably as far as you're gonna get with transferring data. You will most likely lose your Contacts, Calendar, and To-Do list information. But if you wanted to try and backup the device using your x30 backup, go ahead. It won't damage your device.

Besides the fact it may not even work (as ppcfreak said), I certainly wouldn't want to take the chance of using my x50 with the registry settings from the x30.

I know it's a lot of work, but it's probably best to reinstall everything. (Fresh installs are always a good thing to do now and again) ;)

However you can sync your x50 with the same outlook that you synced your x30 with
