x51v Activesync Problem
I am unable to get AS 4.0 to sync my contacts and calendar. It sits and says "Looking for changes" for a long period and then gives me an error box, "Syncronization cannor be competed successfully."
I can install programs OK, run explorer, see my SPB Weather data being updated from the internet, log on to web with Pocket Explorer.
When I go back an try to sync my toshiba e805 using AS 4.0 I have no problems sync-ing my contacts and calendar.
I call Dell support and was told I would be called back within a half an hour. Two days later I haven't heard from them!!
Anybody got any ideas?

You might try repairing Office or Outlook. I had an issue where I could sync at work without problems but at home, it would go through the motions and act like it was synching but nothing would show up. Ran an Outlook repair and everythings hunky dory. your mileage may vary. -D

Thanks for the suggestion, however I have already tried that!
What puzzles me is that it works perfectly with my old Toshiba e805 when change USB cables from the Dell cradle to the Tosh cable.
I am sure it problably is something simple, but I can't come up with a fix. I tried going into ActiveSync on the Axim, selecting Options and the Settings and changing the "Friendly Name" to match that of the e805. The new name does show up on my PC ActiveSync screen.
For some reason the Options display won't let me select "Contacts", only the "Calendar", "E-mail" and "Tasks" data selection boxes are not greyed out. Strange!
Ain't ActiveSync wonderful!!!!

I had somewhat similar problems yesterday. Took me hours to finally get activesync working properly on my new 51v. Not sure what finally did it, but the Office repair was essentially after the new service pack 2 release.
Try deleting the existing partnership and then when you connect again it brings up the wizard.
I had to ultimately create a new empty outlook file and sync that after the above steps.
I find the new activesync 4 very slow - takes a long time looking for changes before completing the sync. Even the 4.1 version seems to be no different.

Strangely I cannot get Spb Weather to update on my X51. after installing it updates fine but then never again until I reinstall. Newsraider is not recognized at all via activesync while it works fine with the x5. Also activesync 4.1 has the ''schedule"option grayed out on my pc,when connecting the X51v -When connecting the X5, activesync works perfectly.
