Hello all, I am amazed at the level of competence in all you experienced Axim users. I have an old palm and an old Toshiba pocket pc, I always had problems with sync and ended up never using them more than 2 days and put them back in the box. I am one click away from ordering the new dell but am concerned about the problems I seen on this forum with the brand new unit. I also did a wish list for all the accessories including the gps and the cost is way above the $699 listed for the basic unit with gps. What to do? Can a newbie utilize all the WI FI and other options? Is it difficult to learn? Do I buy? Is this worth the investment? What accessories do I need to consider. I have read every post here in all forums and I am still asking for more guidance. Is there a book I can get to familiarize myself? I am not a dummy (i am a lawyer but still a sophmore with a lot of this tech stuff)

Welcome to AximSite! If your only concern at this point is if you are going to be able to figure it out. I say buy it. It is not that hard and as you have already seen, the forum here can be very helpfull. As for accessories, I personally have no need for a GPS but many others have them and seem to like it. Otherwise I would consider some memory cards and a case to be at the top of the list. Good Luck~

If you never used the other devices how can you tell that this time you will. Answer this question first and see if you are still looking for an Axim. If yes, we have many tutorial that can be use to star.

Thanks for your feedback. Good point, I did not use the others because after much time spent on input- all the info re contacts calender etc, all was lost when I could not sync and it sat around a couple of days. I got tired of re-entry.

I thought this new one would be better because data is not lost but at this point I am rethinking my decision especially after trying to buy online and having difficulty with the Axim site because the GPS navigation system appears to be "included" in the high end model but the invoice charges you an extra $200 for it. None of the sales staff can help much, they took the order per phone and the invoice did the same thing.

Maybe a dell axim is not in my immediate future. I will keep reading these posts and looking around, thank you to all who replied.
