I really was ready to toss out my Axim (see my note below), but AXIM ED's advice about memmaid was 100 per cent correct, and very, very easy to implement, even for someone like me~ (okay, I know my way around pc's, but the ppc was still a mystery).
It worked....very fast start up now (let's hope it stays that way!), and I now have that same happy feeling I had when I unwrapped the Axim for the first time, knowing that it will help me get a lot more done............(as opposed to the anger that was like waiting in line for two hours to have the car's emissions tested...........you would think that Dell would have some kind of easy fix for this, since they bundled the software that caused this.......)
oh well, take Axim Ed's advice........don't be scared of memmaid, as long as you don't try to use parts of it you don't understand!

I suspect that there are a lot of people having the Odyssey client startup problem. Your instructions are probably fine, but a little too fast for some of us newcomers.......for example, I've read of many folks screwing up their Axims when messing with memMaid.........are you sure that I just have to download it to my desktop, sync it to the Axim and simply go to notifications, etc. without complicating things?
This odyssey problem is so unbelievably irritating---I'm almost ready to do the unthinkable and get a Palm...........but standing there like an idiot waiting, waiting, waiting for 2 minutes or more just to write down some information from a friend
who is standing there.........intolerable....and Dell's "Help" service seems unwilling/unable to handle a problem like this, at least I can't find any way to get help from their web page.......even a slow, three day late e-mail from them would be appreciated, but there's no way to do that, from what I can tell........
