The Bluetooth stack in the X50v is superior to the weak one in the X51v.
I was able to may BT active sync work for me too, the thing is Microsoft doesn't like third party software. When I switched to the MS driver, and used it's resident software, I was able to make it work. I agree with you that the X51V BT stack is inferior to the X50V. When scanned for services, the only two services discoverable from the X51V are the OBEX object push and the serial port. Can you find out what services are discoverable from your X51V?

As for the question to whether it's a good idea to buy an X51V NOW, my answer would be to wait a while, because I wish I did.

From reading the threads on this site, i've notice some major and minor issues with the x51v.

All i'm gonna use the PPC is for school work, listening to music, and watching movies.

I was wondering if the "white screen of death", and the "not powering on" will be an issue to the x51v if you dont install any 3rd party programs? Cause i've noticed that people with these problems have incompatiable software installed on WM5.

So is the Axim x51V a worthy buy or should i consider another PPC?

From my experience the "not powering on" has nothing to do with 3rd party apps, at least not in my case. It is directly tied to turning device off with secure digital card inserted. I ran for a week with no apps installed at all and no SD card. Everything ran fine. Inserted an SD card (Lexar 1Gb) and problem appeared within a couple of hours. So long as I don't shut the device off with SD card in it everything is fine.

I had toshiba 1Gig card in all the time + lots of third party SW. Had no problems turning it on and off. Got to be something else.

Second that also. 1 GB Toshiba SD card, 256 MB Sandisk and 128 MB Sandisk SD cards. No problems at all shutting unit off with SD card installed.

In my case, CF card does it too.

Without an card, 99% of the time it ran fine. But I had one time that it didn't power up without a card. So I'm at a loss.
