But it makes me feel so much better.. If I don't bash dell and microsoft, I'd probably bash my head against the wall waiting to use my new Bluetooth headset and my 4GB CF sandisk flash that worked fine with my x50 and now doesn't even get recognized in the x51v...
Anyone looking for a 4GB sandisk CF? Anyone having the same issues? Anyone know if they will fix the x51v so i can use it again?
Anyone know if the x51v can be used as a projectile weapon? :throwcomp
It's a fun toy, but I have definately lost a lot of respect for the dell sales department considering they told me the x51v can do everything the x50 did and more.... LIE! LIE! LIE! they should have said "One day it MAY do more.. but for now it's buggy"..
Of course, like many of you, I didn't have a choice of OS when ordering the unit from Dell.. Which means, they sold us a beta product. They should OFFER to have the other os installed on it, just so people couldn't freak out about the fact they had no choice in the matter.
Oh well, at least the NES & SNES emulator works, so yay!

Must be a Sandisk issue JoePUNK... I've got a Kingston 4GB CF card and it works like a charm (unless, of course, you count the times it sort of disappears until I do a soft reset; but then all flash media seem to do that in the Dell units).

Indeed, you are correct.. I copied it and a bunch of roms, but just assumed it would work..
POCKET SNES does indeed NOT WORK.. grr
Anyone find an SNES emulator for mobile 5? Even if it's slow, i would like to say I carry around an NES, SNES, GBA ...etc but I've had no luck with GBA on mobile 5 either :(
The sega genesis emulator was way to slow the last time I fussed with it.
Well, that sucks anyways....
I WANT MY.. I WANT MY ... I WANT MY AXIM/MOBILE 5 UPDATE...

Morphgear works terrific on the 51v, at least it does for me. Faster than the 50v and no issues.

I have a X51v and it frequently looses my 4GB SanDisk CF card requiring a soft reset. Also, I have had the white screen of death. SHEESH!
I just hope a Microsoft software patch will be the answer!

Well guys I called them about a week ago. I asked for a time window asking if I could expect these updates within a week. He seemed pretty darn sure within a week would be more than enough time to get the updates out there. So lets see come monday...if there is no updates then I guess Ill call him tuesday. He seemed pretty sure, but who knows with Dell... people are still waiting for the wm5 disc for heavens sakes... If Dell was a student and the customer was a teacher all this late work done half assed would have failed dell a long time ago. But heres hopin on tomorrow. Current bets...does the patches come out on time...and do they actually fix anything{ White screen of Death, Load Time, Turning ON the Device, Bluetooth Support}.
Im hoping yes on both accounts, but it sounds so foolish to have that kindof faith.

You know I just talked to Dell, and they blamed Microsoft, who they say is holding the release becasue of problems with WM4. Expect shipments in 2-3 days.
You know there is a REASON, I stay a 1/2 generation behind.

Are you talking about shipments of wm5...
or patches for wm5
Well the patches/updates Im refering to in this forum are ones handed down from Microsoft more than two weeks ago to dell. Furthermore as far as some of the bluetooth problems go...some of them are dells fault...they hacked the registry.

Shipping of CD's
Honestly, I would suspect that they would have went through all the kinks before selling the product. After all, that's what companies do before putting a product out there and letting the consumers work out the kinks. When I receive mine in a few days I would hope it comes with a cd with all the kinks out.

My guess is that its all related. Dell is going to put the fixes on the WM5 update CD, so my guess is that the update CD and the patches will be released at the same time, along with releaseing other languages versions of the X51 such as in Japanese.
