Power off button
I have just received my new x51v and I am wondering if something is wrong with the device. If I switch it off (no full power off) then the battery is flat after a couple of hours. Is this a defect or do I have to always power it off fully?

What happens to the wireless connection if I don't full power it off?

What do you mean by full power off and not full power off? The power switch will shut the device off if you press it briefly and let go. If you hold the button down, it will only shut off the backlight, but the device is still running. Press and hold the button again and the backlight comes back on.

If you shut of the device, the wireless radios will shut off as well (wifi and bluetooth).

"Full power off" is a new option with the WM5 OS. Since it works off ROM, it does not need a constant power supply to prevent a hard reset like prior versions do.

Szhrmp,I'm not sure why you are losing power so quickly. I haven't done any actual tests but my X51 certainly doesn't lose that much battery level. If fact, even if I use it quite a bit during the day, I'm rarely below 70% after 9 hours without the power cube connected. I normally turn off the wireless when I'm not home so that could explain part of the different but even then, I don't think it should be using that much power. Brobinson's suggestion about the backlight is a possiblity if you are holding the power switch too long.
