Just got the X51v yesterday. I haven't seen and screen that glares so much. It appears that it has no anti-glare coating at all. I'm wondering if it's a common problem or my screen has some kind of defect.
Does anyone have similar problem? Niw I'm under debate whether or not to return it back.

Mine glares at me too if I don't talk nice to it. There are antiglare screen protectors you can put on it. The Axim equivalent of duck tape over your in-laws mouth. you can get them here with 15% off for being an aximsite member Good luck Link

Actually, that shiny look is what some people want, and even if they use a screen protector, they will choose the "crystal" type to simulate the naked screen look! Anyway, if it's bothering you, do as comptonOG advises and get an anti-glare screen protector.

Man I can understand why yours glares at your attitude. Maybe it's even an advantage to you because youdon't have to carry an extra mirror with you.
However it's a real problem to me. I've got an E740, an Axim X50 416 and an OQO. None of them is as reflective as my new X50v. So I guess I will save the duck tape for your in-law's mouse and just return that sucker.

I will think about that. Actually the only thing I like about the X51v is the resolution. Does X50v has the same screen as X51v? If not I will ask for a replacement of X50v.

Yes, they should have identical screens.

The OQO is OK. I got it in last year just before Christmas. It's a fine toy. Only problem is that the memeory is too small (only 256M).

BTW, just got a white screen of death with my X51v. Dell really has the guts selling hardware with buggy software to millions of people.
Also just read from the this site that iGuidance doesn't work on this thing. I started wondering what the hell do I need it for?

Your OQO looks slick, thanks for sharing the link. I noticed the power button has the same emblem on it as the Axim. Just coincidence I assume. Yes, folks are getting the white screen of death. Me too on a bone stock Axim. Many of us are waiting for a ROM update. When that will be, who knows. iGuidance has not released a Win mobile 5 version yet but plan to soon. I went ahead and decided on Oncourse Nav. 5 for this reason. Take care.
