maybe a silly question, but have you activated it using button on left hand side of device?..[one with antena on]...I know I spent ages messing around in 'settings' before I realised this was there...just pressed it twice and was away. hth
Although this may not reference the X51 or WM5, check out http://wifi.aximsite.com to see how far you can go.
Fortunately, Dell doesn't seem to have changed too much with the WLAN utility between the X50 and X51 but when I have the chance, I'll make up a new section specific for WM5.

I am also having extreme difficulties establishing wireless internet connection between my Linksys WRT54G v.3 and Axim x51v. If I reset router which disables security encription ect., it will work. Can anyone help me to set up security type connection, probably using Odyssey Client. Thank you. Fricken Dell reps of course are of no help. Script read'n dummys.... gaaaaawwwwwwwdddd.
What security are you trying to use? If WEP, be sure to enter the key in hexidecimal format (10 or 26 characters depending on the level of security). I don't use the Odyssey client, but in the Dell WLAN utility, tap Settings on the Main page, then the name (SSID) of your network, the Network Key (tab) and fill in the information to match the router's settings.

What do you mean "Fortunately"?
I wish they had completely scrapped the network config and started over. That has to be the most confusing user interface "design" I've seen in a VERY long
time.
I meant it was fortunate because it didn't require a new section for the guide (which I've now added, anyway). I'm not sure what you think is confusing about it.

I'm pretty disappointed with the X51V right now. I can't get BT or WiFi networking to work at all, whereas the X50V that I have works perfectly fine with identical configuration. I think WM5 was released too early and has too many bugs.
