I received my X51v today. In the process of becoming familiar with it I turned on Switcher Bar. This slowed the machine down . I was taking 3 seconds to load a screen. I could not sync. I did a soft reset to remove Switcher Bar and everything went back to normal. I have been reading the posts in preparation but don't recall anything about this diabolical SwitcherBar. Has anyone else experienced this?
Like I said I was learning to use the Axim. Now I see how to close programs.( upgrading from old Palm) But with switch bar running it gave me problems.
I have got an axim x51v, I used it a little but I can not identify the switcher bar on the screen even after I tap the swithcer bar icon. Could you please help?

See attachment! (added a red arrow pointing at the Switcher Bar!)
I tried SwitcherBar the first day I had my Axim X51 mid, and experienced the same slowdown delay in screens. after that, I am not gonna use it anymore.

I agree, use MagicButton. It has more features than the switcher bar does. It is also a free application. They just came out with Version 2.0 (build 51023). You can get it at www.trancreative.com
Something is very weird, right after I had red your post the button you red pointed showed up, but after I exited the switcher bar it never showed up again. I miss it...

If you click exit from drop down menu it will just do that (“exit”), as a result it won’t show the icon anymore!
All you have to do is to start it again by launching it from the Settings folder under System Tab. (or from "Home")
Ps. it will also disappear if you soft rest your Axim and you’ll need to run it again!
I'm hesitant to give up on the switcher bar, but it's been giving me trouble from the beginning. Anyone had the following problem:
I'll have the switcher bar open constantly right from boot. I'll be using it fine, closing programs one by one here and there as I need to. Then, all of a sudden, i'll open the switcher bar and the program list will be empty. The "close current program" and "close all programs" will be greyed out. I exit and re-open switcher, same thing. The list re-populates only when I stop all the programs in the memory page and re-open them. No need to restart the switcher bar.

VERY annoying, anyone else seen this? any fix?
You might want to try 'Magic Button' it does the same task but more features and best of all its a free download from www.trancreative.com I have been using it for over a month now with no issues after doing the ROM upgrade to A04 found at www.support.dell.com
I use Magic Button 2.0 with no hang-ups. There is one thing though... after a while the program icons in the title bar lose their specific look and just have what looks like the plain white thing, making it impossible to tell which icon is for which program. Any thoughts?
