Hmm Bluetooth DUN any one get it to work??

After struggling for a month and 2 X51Vs later it is still not possible for my PDA to dial out via bluetooth with my V710. Well actually I can't even get my X51V to see any services in my phone. Is this happening to everyone or is it because of my crippled verizon bluetooth? Dialing out this way works beautifully on my X50V with the Moto V710.

Since it seems that Dell won't be fixing this anytime soon, does anyone know of any cell phone that that works via bluetooth with X51V??
With out being able to dial out my X51V is completly worthless...

Hopefully Dell will fix this soon.

Thanks,
Kirstin

You can use the free bluetooth dialer from http://www.vmobilesoftware.com/bluetooth_dialer.htm

This allows you to set the bluetooth connection to COM8 which is normally the Port assigned to BT phones when you pair it.

But I am not able to use Voice2Go software to dial a BT phone as this software does not show COM8 in its bluetooth setup.

I tried the V-mobile dialer software but it seems that the first problem I'm having is that the X51V pairs fine with my phone and computer but in the phone it see's no bluetooth services in the phone(when it should at least be showing DUN and headset since it's verizon).
In the notebook with a USB bluetooth dongle the only service it see's is "serial port" and I am able to active sync via Bluetooth this way, but that is it.

So I guess this is the first hurdle in trying to dial out to the internet.

Thanks for your help.

There seems to be some very strange things going on. I have 2 Motorola v600's... one thats Cingular branded.... and one thats non branded that I got when I was in Europe..... when I connect to the branded phone I have no services, when I connect to the unbranded oem unit I at least have DUN.... not my file transfer liek with my x50... but at least DUN.. if anybody figured out anyway to get the services working I would love to get my phones working...

And yes, I have used the DUN to get a connection to PeoplePC and check my email and browse a few news sites...

I had the same problem as you, and at first I about wanted to throw both my X51 and my V710 out into the lake!!

It took me forever, 2 hard resets, and almost memoriziong the manual!!!

Finally, the problem was the access code. When you go to set up your connection in the connection manager on the x51, and it asks for an access code type "1234" and then on the phone when it asks "Bond with (INSERT NAME HERE)" type "1234" again. That was my problem......

Even if I type totally diff access codes on the phone and the axim, the axim acts like it is pairing but shows no services on the phone, with the code "1234" and not any thing else, it show the DUN profile.

PS If anyone can the headset to show, that would be awesome!

Hope it helps!!

e815 and x51v working fine here. Just paired them, then created a diap up connection on the x51v, and off we went. Just make sure that DUN is enabled on the phone. Just because it shows up as a service, doesn't mean it will work. ##dialup on my phone does the trick. Just do it real fast.

Wow, you got the x51 and the 710 to work together? I tried your suggestion but to no avail. Could you do a detailed step by step for all of us who have been trying to get on the internet using the 710. Thanks

Actually, the BT headsets are known to not work with the Axim X51 series, because dell "accidentally" deleted all of the BT Profile Drivers except for DUN and HID. This is supposedly going to be fixed, along with the CF/SD card problem and the no turn on/WSOD problem towards the end of the month with a New ROM Release.

I'd love to get my Bluetooth headset to work with my Axim, make dictation of patient reports in the field a heck of a lot easier.

My Moto V551 works fine with my Axim X51v, I just had to go through hell and high water to find Cingular's settings.

So good to know that I'm not a total idiot for not getting it to work, when it seemed that I was the only one...

Thanks,

Kirsti
