Dell Axim-x51v Power ON/OFF Problem

I encountered power on/off problem for my new PDA even with the replacement unit on 7th Nov. I'm upset with my new toy. The problem as below:

1) Power button is blinking (orange in colour) and can’t turn-on the PDA even try to reinsert the SD card. Removed the battery and able to turn-on the PDA

2) White screen after charge. Removed the battery and able to turn-on the PDA (done once hard reset)

3)Can’t turn-on the PDA (even try to reinsert the SD card) if leaves the PDA there for an hour (sometime 10 mins) or after used the lock/unlock button. Removed the battery and able to turn-on the PDA. This happened on 7/11 (2 times), 8/11 (3 times) and 9 (5 times – in fact now).

I hope Dell can resolve the problem fast and replace the new unit to their customer. Looking forward

Phyllis

The only way I have found to avoid your issues is to not put your SD card in the unit. I know this can be a pain for some but it does stop a lot of the issues you are experiencing. If you can avoid it until a fix is completed, you will find your device to be relatively stable.

Hi, thank you CDNAXIM. I'll try this out. Cheers...

My expenence has been the same as CDNAXIM's. I have a CF and a SD card which I leave out of the unit. By doing that all of the issues I have had with my X51V have been solved. The only way to fix this is with a ROM update so will be waiting for it in the near future (I hope).
