Question Slow SD transfers anyone?

Hi there.

I'm have a x51v and bought an 1GB Ultra-II SD card. If I transfer files using my USB 2.0 SD adapter it is REALLY fast (2-3 minutes and it's full). But if I leave it inside my Axim and use ActiveSync to transfer the same file it is REALLY, *REALLY* slow. It takes something like 5-8 minutes for a 350MB transfer. All my USB ports are 2.0, I'm sure about that.

I just upgraded to AS 4.1 and it's the same thing...

Any ideas?

2 things
- The Axim Cradle is only USB1.1 not USB2.0
- The Axim itself can only write at about 1x speed so your fast card is no advantage. It can only read at about 10x speed (1.2MB/s).

So what you are experiancing is normal and just a limitation of the hardware.

Cheers

Dammit. Thanks for your help! I guess I'll have to stick with my huge SD USB adapter ;-)

Jay...
No I don't I am sorry - I'm slightly supprised that a 2GB card will not be read... I thought that was within the limits of WM2003. Not sure the limits of 2002 if you are running that.

I would suggest trying another 2GB card and see what happens.

Hades...
No problem mate - I also use the cardreader in my laptop for transfers of large amounts of data.

Cheers
