Groupwise 6.5 and X51v are working together - unbelievable

:approve:
finally I can sync my Calendar, Mails, Tasks and Files by using the newest version of Pumatech's Intellisync.

Yesterday I updated my ActiveSync 4.0 to 4.1 but still had the Error 85010014. Now installed Pumatech's Intellisync 5.5.0 and what a surprise, all data found the way to Axim X51v.

By the Way, I still have the error message, but doesn't matter.

My Setup:

PC
Windows XP
Groupwise 6.5
ActiveSync 4.1
Intellisync 5.5.0

Axim X51v
Windows Mobile 5.0
Pocket Informant
Pocket Today
SpbFinance

Hope you guys could use my information.

rgds and allways blue sky

Sir - EXCELLENT NEWS! I'm downloading their trial, but, I don't see a patch to up it to version 5.5. How did you get it? I'll also beta-try this when I get home today!

Very Welcome news indeed!

Thanks for your post... this is very encouraging!

I have not had any problems with Active Sync 4.1 other than the fact that it is so limited. I had Intellisync with my old Palm and I liked the way you could choose to have the Handheld or the PC take priority in each application being synced. It looks like their latest version has even more features. Their web site gives no indication that Intellisync is compatable with Windows Mobile 5.0 so your info is great news for me!

Thanks! :approve:

Groupwise PDA connect

After years of having this problem, I found that Novell finally released a product called Groupwise PDA connect that does the same thing, but it is free and more reliable. You need GroupWise 6.5 SP3 or later for it to work and the link is:

http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/10111.html

You can find more information at:
http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tip/15826.html

I have not tried this with WM5 yet, but it should work.

Hope this helps!

Bummer, Intellisync no good for me :(

I'm getting a message of "Failed to retrieve record" when choosing Groupwise 6.5 from the list of calendars to sync with. Intellisync's support tool is hanging on the dang submit button, so I hope to get an email off to them soon to find out what this is.

Mike - did you encounter this at all?

Ry.

Looks like I may be screwed...

"Hello Ryan,

Our latest version of Intellisync is 5.5 and it has been released last month. This version supports GroupWise 6.5.4 (and 6.0x versions). Most likely , but I cannot be sure, a patch will be released to support Windows Mobile 5.0 and ActiveSync 4.0 very soon . You might need to upgrade your version of GW from 6.5 to 6.5.4.
You can register at http://www.intellisync.com/notify.tpl if you would like to be notified of future releases and updates.

Best regards,

Brindusa
Intellisync Support"

Our corp is running 6.5.1, and I don't think there's an upgrade ANY time soon ... :(

My trial of Intellisync is about to expire and I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay for it.

I am loath to do this as the version 5.5 is VERY unstable with WM5.

It will work, ONCE. If I open everything in the correct order an make sure the right things are corrected. However it never quites completes the shutdown at the end of the sync to close itself. The only way to get rid of the Intellisnyc screen is to kill it using task manager. It won't start again after that.

Only way round is to re-boot the PC....

It works... but not great.

0x85010014 Error code - Day 1 already an error!!!

:realmad:
It's just day one of my ownership and I'm getting this code! My computer and X51v linked up fine as part of the initial setup. Now I replaced the PDA in the cradle, all connections the same, and computer doesn't see my PDA, all connections (COM1, USB) fine, and the activesync on the PDA gives this error code. HELP!

are you trying to connect to Groupwise?

or are you connecting to Outlook

AS4+ needs to connect directly to the Outlook database and won't play with any other e-mail server, even if you use Outlook to mirror the Groupwise database.

The only way to get it to work with GW is in the options for AS deselect almost everything then use a third party program like Intellisync to actually do the syncing. You still have to leave AS running though!

amazing what you learn in 3 weeks of banging your head against your desk....

Ok, dof question: What is groupwise? When I started up it asked me what I wanted to synchronise, so I said messages, calender, tasks and notes - it didn't like the last, telling me "attention". I ignored this because it seemed happy to proceed without it. My work computer has a firewall that prevents me linking to the internet except directly from this desktop (but it blazes!).
Back to facts - how do I change options? At the moment the desktop has the green circle going round and round on AS, saying "connecting" but doing nothing, and "options" is greyed out. The PDA does very little; clicking Sync causes a quick flash of the green "connecting" bar and then nothing, before giving the same messasge when I go to "View Status".
So you're saying, go to Intellisync, copy and install (how if they aren't connecting now? Does that change when I pull it of the web?)

Thanks a heap,

Ant

[B]And which intellisync product is it?? There are almost a dozen on their website, I'm not sure which to use. Surely I shouldn't have to use a third party product to get my X51 to talk to Outlook?

If you don't know what Groupwise is then you haven't got it! Be thankful! (It works well as an e-mail program but is a PITA when trying to sync with an Axim)

If you do a search with the error code you will get lots of info (more than you want I guess)

this site is particularly helpful with sync-ing probs...

Hello,

Windows Mobile 2005 is not yet supported by Intellisync Handheld Edition. It will be supported soon, but I cannot say for sure the exact date. You can register at http://www.intellisync.com/notify.tpl if you would like to be notified of future releases and updates.

Best regards,
