I believe too that the dent is caused by a defective mould. If it's either a dent or the silver paint coming off, I would have accepted it. A dent + silver paint coming off is too much for me to bear.

Mine has the same "dent" in the same exact location. I believe that this a plastic molding issue and not really a dent. Running my finger over it, it is difficult to feel the dip so it is quite shallow. The high gloss paint makes it more noticable. I did not notice this on the prior two units I had. However this unit seems to be much more stable so I am not going to worry about the small cosmetic issue.
