It would be nice if this were true but our experience with Dell support staff knowing whats coming has not been a success. We will just have to wait for an announcment from on high. In the meen time upgrading to ROM A04 and using the BT soluting has made my unit totally stable and usable at a moments notice.
Hey guess what, the bean counters are in charge and techs gets measured on how quickly he can complete a call. If it will get you off the phone, they will tell you an update is on the way. I agree with Big Dave, you have to be patient and sing a little chorus of Que Sera Sera. For the youngsters in this forum, that's an old Doris Day song and it means what ever will be, will be. :soap:
Still waiting for my x51v, due on Wednesday but I have to say having found this site AFTER I bought the unit I was horrified to see the number of issues, but a few days reading has put my mind a rest that it will get sorted one way or the other.
MENTAL NOTE TO SELF - Make sure I keep all my install files handy as it looks like I will have to hard reset in Jan when the long awaited BT / CF card update comes out. Thanks for all the advice everyone. I can see this being my most visited site at work for a while!
I have spoken with diff. Dell support staff and they were not able to tell me when the next ROM will be rlsed; they said they would not get the ROM ahead than we do.

I guess that means that they are releasing an untested ROM for our experimentation? Sort of fun being the test kitchen, if you're into masochism.

no, Dell has its own development team and testing group. support team would be separate. that's pretty normal for a big company i'd believe.
