Wi-Fi Connection, ?erratic with X51

I realized this was in the wrong forum. Sorry.
I'm reposting in Wireless forum.

Today I went to a restaurant with WiFi and it was clearly broadcasting fine, but my X51 said DHCP: failed. If I tried to renew the IP, it kept failing. I came home and connected fine to my home network. How do I know if this is a problem with my unit, or with the Wifi that restaurant had? I don't think there was a problem with the restaurant. There was another network nonencrypted at 60% that I couldn't use either. What does "DHCP: failed mean?"

DHCP - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
The error message means your Axim was not able to obtain an IP address
from the DHCP server.
There may be many reasons to it: weak wireless connection, incompatible DHCP protocol implementation (unlikely), server out of IP address space, etc.

Hi - I've just bought an AXIM X51v and cannot get it to work on my home wireless network - same syptoms. When I try it on my neighbors wireless network it is fine. I have a strong signal in my house from my network and have 2 wirelsss enabled laptops that work ok. Seems we have similar symptoms and don't think the above helps solve my problem - any thoughts

What kind of wireless router do you have at home. I found that my X51 can connect to some routers, but not others. My previous router was a D-Link and even though my notebook connected fine, my Axim wouldn't. I bought a Belkin router to test and the Axim connected immediately. Both routers have WPA security turned on and the latest firmware, but I don't have a good explanation for the difference in behavior.

When I looked at some posts on the Hardware>Wireless Forum, I get the impression that this erratic behavior is an AXIM problem. I would like to think that the particular restaurant had too many connected to get an IP, or something else mentioned, but your problem at home, and the fact that a different router makes a difference, is suspicious. FURTHER, the week before, I got on easily at that restaurant. So, I am just not sure.
