When I place the x51 in its cradle after a few minutes it turns off and I am unable to turn it back on without hitting the soft reset. Is there something in my settings causing this.

check your power settings under the settings menu to make sure it's supposed to turn off on AC power if you want it to stay on

I had that problem, or something similar. For me it is that my power plug is not plugged into the cradle all the way . . . or the wall outlet all the way . . . or I'm at work and I left the power cable at home. Probably not helpful to you, but that was my problem. Good luck.
