Accessing AOL Web Portal Using Windows Mobile 2005

Happy Holidays to all...

Here's one for you..any help would be appreciated...

I am trying to use my Axim x51v with Mobile 2005 to access AOL's web portal so I can utilize my aol account...of course, as is usual with AOL, something's screwed up..I get an error message via a redirect that says my Internet Explorer version is too old for AOL's "new" tech..it offers to let me d/l a new browser, which, of course, seems foolish and most probably would screw up the Mobile 2005 OS.., has anyone else encountered this, and can anyone offer a fix?

Thanks

There is probably no fix for it. AOL is really terrible. I can't stand it. You can try to use minimo but it might not work either.

i'm just trying to access aolmail but it is requiring a newer version of IE, and Aol does not have a moblie version for mobile 5 yet, and its the same issue for adobe, none for mobile 5

Ive been on the phone with dell, they were very helpful but no fix as of yet although I did get a very nice credit from them for my issues, :)

They did offer to take back my axim but its far to nice to give up on it. Someone will find a way resolve these things, just a matter of time.

All of aols pocket pc software is too expensive on the us site, and too old. I would consider paying money for an app, if it wasn't from the ppc 2000 and 02 days. I have aim from the uk site, and this thing is old! When i go to file, about, it says 1996-2000! AOL needs to do something. They update theyre desktop aim like every week.

Sorry bout that.. but I used to be a beta tester for windows CE and then they decided to drop it.

In step 3: you can leave the first line empty. (The name you enter there will show up on your outgoing email.)
Next line enter your screen name.

Thanks to all for responding, particularly the great suggestion for setting up email..I don't know if that fix handles more than one screename, so don't know if that works, but bit the bullet and bought 2003 version of AOL..this is strictly an AOL problem, once again their stupidity of trying to dictate to everyone what they should do and how they will do it...

Anyway, thanks again...love this forum...

You can go ahead and create a new email "account" for every screen name you have, and swtich between them. Use the same steps i posted earlier on, just make a new account.
