ActiveSync via bluetooth with X51v does not work!

After hundreds of trials, I can say that my AXIM X51v bluetooth does not synchronize with ActiveSync (4.0 or 4.1).

I have tried almost everything and I cannot see the Activesync service available to check it on in my axim.

I've read all the bluetooth related posts and nothing helped.

Tried with both Windows 2000 SP4 and XP SP2 and nothing.

Maybe there exists some application to be run on WM5 (like IVT BlueSoleil)that fixes the missing bluetooth problem. Does anyone know something about this?

I'd really appreciate that someone help me with my problem.

I have the firm proposal of having BT working with ACTIVESYNC!!!!

Yeah, I can't get it to sync with my PC via BT either. Really annoying. Hopefully Dell will fix the BT stack in the next ROM update.

My bluetooth sync is working very well. I have an x51v and it syncs nicely via bluetooth with my Dell PC. I wonder what I am doing that you are not.

Hy,

1. X51

from a to d

2. Inster the local service Seriall Port (C on the manual) into Active sync.

3. On the PDA make a new connection to the PC and serach to services, make a mark at Active sync, that it.

Remember:

1. Do this when the PDA is out of the station
2. When the PC promb`s if you wana allow the PDA to use this service check yes, search again on the PDA for services and there it is

Good luck :approve: :approve:

It does indeed work, however I've found that it depends on the Bluetooth adaptor on your PC.

I can't get it working with a new Belkin F8T012 using Widcom drivers, however my cheap nasty BlueMonkey adaptor using default XP drivers works perfectly.

Question

Does anyone have any experience with the Zoom 4312 PCMCI Blutooth card. :rolling:

It is $$$ but am considering getting it for my Laptop. I do not have wireless at home and thought this might let me sit in the armchair, sync with the laptop, and surf the net. Any comments, suggestions Ideas etc. appreciated.

This don't work either. I even don't have the "Bluetooth Device" icon in my control panel. I think the BlueSoleil software just don't work with Activesync. Can I change it to Widcomm software?

I posted this in another thread and hopefully it will help here. I had the same problem with my Belkin and I assume others are having the same problem with other adaptors.

Somewhere down the line, Microsoft added something to their updates for XP that screwed up BT. The telltale sign is to look at device manager and you'll see that you have 2 BT devices. One will be your actual device and the other will be the Microsoft BT Ennumerator (sp).

If that's the case, download (or get your original install disk)the drivers for your adaptor. Then choose your adaptor and update the drivers. THIS IS IMPORTANT - You will need to tell Windows that you want to manually do the update. If you have it search or even point to where your drivers are it will tell you that you already have the latest drivers installed. Go back and force it to use the drivers from your manufacturer.

After that follow the other instructions for pairing and you should now see the Activesync service available.

Agree, I bought one from ebay for less $10 including S&H. It uses microsoft default driver. BT sync works fine for my x51v
