Common problems + basic question

Not real computer literate. I am having the same problems everyone else is with power issues regarding SD(needing soft reset to power up) card as well as power drain. Have chatted online and called Dell; you guys have given more info than they ever have!!! Got a new unit coming probably 1-3-06; I'll report what version of ROM it is. They tried to update my unit; but it would lose connection in cradle during updat to A04 with all Anti-virus and windows closed. The unit would not do anything as it was stuck in the middle of the update. I had to hard reset it. They said it was because I was using Windows 2000- I cannot believe this! Hence-the new unit coming. Also; begged to them to give me some free stuff (as my wife and I both have a unit that is not working right) for all my time. I did get a 25.00 credit on my credit card.

Basic question (I am embarassed to ask). I installed a casino game and approx 6 pictures and am getting a critically low memory message. Do I have to install all my programs on the SD card when the unit works right after all the fixes? or am I doing something wrong?

I install all my Applications in the X51v's main memory.

Music files and Video go on the SD card for me.(Pictures as well, when the time comes).

Regarding critically low memory, maybe you hit the record button on the side of your PDA and its recorded a ridiculously large file by accident. It happens. If this is the case just delete the file and your memory woes should be over.

memory allocation- is this about right?

My x51v shows 49.47mb allotted program memory w/21.19 mb inuse, leaving 28.28mb free. I have no applications running and no applications installed to the device. Does this seem right?
