Is it possible to export old backup file to new x51V

I have a compaq 38xx PPC running PPC 2002. Is it possible to use the active synch backup file from the compaq and import it to my new X51V?

For messages and contacts maybe possible but not system backup. The built-in backup utility in X51v is total crap. I can't even restore backup on same ROM version. I'm using Sunnysoft Backup Manager at the moment.

Not to mention the fact that AS4.x does not have a backup/restore utility so even if it was compatable (which it isn't), there's no way to use it with the X51.

I had the X30 and was trying to restore contacts from there...anyone know how to do it?

Can you sync your x30 with outlook and then let activesync put the contacts on your new device?

Thanks for helping out.
The X30 saved my contacs to outlook but the new AS and WM5 won't let me bring those contacts to the X51v.

If you have your contacts in Outlook (not Outlook Express, but the full version), and if that version is Outlook 2003 running on Windows XP and if you have the XP firewall turned off (or ActiveSync has been added as one of the exceptions), and you are using ActiveSync V4.1, and you are using direct USB connect to the PC (no USB hub), and you installed AS V4.1 BEFORE connecting the Axim to the PC - THEN you should be able to sync with no problems......
