Is X51v by default IR disabled?

Hello,

Few months ago, when I got my x51v, I downloaded a universal remote software and I couldn't get it to work.

I thought it was either problem with the program or me, but I recently tried a different remote program and it too doesn't seem to work.

I tried the pre-configured Sony TV settings, and eith both programs, it failed to turn on the TV.

I am wondering if my IR is either, turned off, or defective?

I looked for a prgram to turn the IR on/off, and I don't see anything.

BTW,

3 months with x51v, NOT a single reset yet.
I use bluetooth GPS often, so my bluetooth was always on since getgo. There are billion WiFi locations in my area, so I have always kept WiFi off (these seem to be the "fix" that people talk about here).

As for the white screen of death, I read somewhere here that pressing the power button quickly 3 times turns the unit back on. Well, it's quickly pressing power button 2 times.

Anyway, I would much appreciate any help with my IR problem.

Thank you,

-Sage

The IR should be good to go. My sony tv didn't like the default settings either. The programs should have (I know noviiremote does) an option to have it learn the buttons by beaming them from the actual remote. It's pretty nifty.

How is teh X51V range for IR compared to the X30H. My X30H can turn the TV on from at least 20 feet away.

I'm not sure about the x51v vs the x30H, but my x50v does have less of a range compared to my old x3i.
