It seems that my new X51v has been sluggish when resolving domains names in wireless connections. The pages eventually load but it seems that I've waited as long as 20 seconds for PIE to finish resolving and contacting the site. Anybody else seen this?

Addition who needs that kind of stuff any way huh?

You can't compare PIE with the normal IE on your desktop for speed. Generally, I'd say PIE takes about 5-10 seconds to load a page instead of instant-5 secs on a desktop computer. However, if it is related to resolving names it may be due to your wireless settings or configurations on the router. Some routers will slow down significantly if there are both B and G devices on it, and I mean slower than just the B device on the router.

PIE on my X30 worked great and did not suffer from this problem. In fact, my X51 didn't originally but something must have changed.
As I said previously, the page loading speeds (once the address is resolved and site is contacted) are still great, so I'm pretty sure the B device-on-G Router issue isn't my problem.
My router is a Belkin Pre-N and it's brand new with no funky settings of any kind, so I'm pretty sure my network isn't the problem. Like I said before, it's happening at all the WiFi hotspots I frequent as well.

I had plenty of problems with wifi after upgrading to A06. Long load times, connection instability. Basically I couldnt rely on wifi to work when I wanted it too.
I reverted back to A04 and I have no problems whatsoever with wifi. Loading is quick and painless again. And thats on a wireless b. Yes load times will be slower for a PIE compared to IE on a desktop/laptop, however after installing A06 it was incredibly slower and unstable.
That was my observation and Im glad I reverted back to A04. Not all seem to suffer the same fate, but a hand full of users have experienced problems with wifi thanks to A06.
Anyways I hope you fix it. If all else fails just install the A04 rom on your machine and see whether it makes a difference.

I have the same problem.
I purchased 2 X51V's, for myself and my wife. With identical setup, one works fine, the other doesn't......
Same problem here (A06-x51v). Once a site is resolved, pages load pretty quickly (caching dns?), but loading an external link takes forever on "Locating..." I am unsure whether it got worse due to A06, or something installed since.
I'm having exactly the same problem. My x51v takes forever "locating" but then is fast once within a website. The only place I've had this problem is at home. When I type in an IP directly it is fast, but when I use a name...slow. Work is blazing fast all the time and I have the same router at home as at work. This has been driving me crazy for a while now and I haven't found a solution. I started another thread on it, but so far have found no solution. Has anyone?

I had the same problem. Fixed it by manually providing DNS ips instead of letting the device find them through dhcp. Now if only activesync's drivers would install...
I have the same problem where I get "Locating....." from PIE forever. Eventually the page loads and away I go.
However, I was at a coffee shop and they had free internet access. I fired up my Axim and connected to the hotspot and I didn't have the long "Locating....." issue.
When I got home and tried it again, using the same web pages that I visited before, I got a "Locating...." taking forever again.
When I get home tonight I might try hard coding DNS to see if that solves anything.

I had the exact same problem. "Locating" at home forever, but other places no problems at all. I manually entered the DNS IP's and the problem went away at home. Now it's fast! However, I worried about other hotspots now. I haven't had a chance to test, but I'm afraid it may not work other places due to the DNS IP's I manually entered.
