When I sync my X51v, during the sync I get unable to obtian a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP setting.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the message. Everything still sync find, just that message always pops up. I have recently updated to A06 Rom. Also leave in small community and I don't use the wireless unless I'm traveling and hit a hot spot. Have noticed that when I'm in different areas of the city that I can pick up others that may have wireless in there home or business. Are there any legal issues about this.

I have the same problem. I can't seem to connect to the internet with the sync connection either.

Does anyone have any ideas?

there's no legal problems that I know of about accessing wireless internet on whatever devices you find.

Both of you: what version of ActiveSync are you running? 4.0, 4.1?

Also, have you changed any of the settings in Exchange Server? I use the x51v.

Is your Wi-Fi off when you hook up the sync cable? Also, there is a setting to use a 169.254.x.x address if no dhcp server is available.

Are either of you running any 3rd party programs on you ppc's?
