Why don't we have a sticky here reg x51v probs?

I don't want to sound rude, and I am not trying to be, but I am kinda of fed up from seeing this forum littered with "Help, my CF card disappears" or "I need to reset to turn unit on".

Obviously these people have not read the forum because if one even clicks onto the next page of the forum, there are numerous postings regarding these already too well-known isuues.

Aximsite has been invaluble source for help and ideas, and I noticed (at least with me) that I am now loosly skimming over posting titles because of the saturation of people talking about their problems that are already well documented here.

I also realize that aximsite is one of the most friendliest forums, but I think this is making the forum messy, with people liberally posting same questions because they haven't taken the time to read through few pages of the forum.

maybe we need a sticky that read "IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR X51v, READ THIS FIRST!".

Just my 2cents.

Funnily enough I have just created such a thread in the x50/51 forum root = http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=112638

Perhaps it would be best in this board. I have requested that it be made sticky via the Forum Webmaster, so we'll see.

I agree though - the reason I wrote it all in simple laymans terms is because I'm fed up with seeing the same posts over and over - and fed up of people bitching about the x51v, without even attempting to apply the necessary Activesync reconfiguration.

I once again want to stress that I am not trying to me mean to newbies. It's just that recent flood of "What's wrong with my CF card", etc... has really diluted the quality of the forum.

I am also a member of the maxima.org and nikonians.org and not that they are meaner than here, I think people are more willing to "help" people into proper forum netiquette.

I do not think that not answering really helps either, because soon or later, some forum member will answer it (testiment to the "niceness" of the members here), reinforcing the "post-first, read forum later" attitude. Considering the number of people getting pocketpc's, I just think that the "flood" will get even worse.

This reminds me of when I used to have college students in my lab. They would ask me a general chemistry question, I tell them to go look in a textbook, and rather than going to the index, they open a few random pages of the book and then tell me that they can't find it...

I guess in the end, if the psyche of the folks who partake in the flood posting is such that they would rather post and get spoon-fed answers, a sticky probably wouldn't work either. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a sticky with "READ ME FIRST IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS!".

I'm bit worried, because I've seen some great forums get ruined by unintentional flooders.
