SD Card Reformat Hell

Firstly, yes I'm obviously an idiot.

I had installed and uninstalled so many things I thought it a good time to hard-reset and start from a clean slate. For some unknown reason I wanted to also clean my 4GB Sandisk SD card so I stuck it into my PC card reader (first time used the SD slot) and proceeded to do a card format.

It appears that the PC card reader might only have recognized up to 1GB because after the format... that is what the properties reflected. When I put the card back into the Axim.....sure enough it too started showing it as a 1GB card (whereas it had previously always shown 4GB's).

Did I just screw things up permanently? Any ideas or recommendations for a fix would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

OK,

First, you are NOT an idiot. What you did was correct. It doesn't work due to Microsoft's fault. The solution is to format your card from the Pocket PC, using for example Resco or other available tools. You did NOT screw anything permanently. Now, are you sure you have a Sandisk 4GB SD Card? I don't think it even exists. AFAIK, the only 4GB SD Card is from Pretec, and the highest SD Card from Sandisk has 2GB capacity. Please let me know exactly what you have, because I might have interest, ok? Thank you and good luck!
