The TRUTH is that the x51v is a GREAT pda, that is suffering from some growing pains due to a new OS. Dell has done a great job with the updates (the latest of which is only about a month old), and has fixed the vast majority of the problems. The thing that Dell has screwed everyone on is the x50v upgrade, which is HORRIBLE. It is unusable, and they haven't done a thing to fix it other than provide a downgrade utility. This has just fed the fire, and everyone started lumping the x51v in with it -- which is completely unjustified.
This isn't just my opinion; I have QA'd both devices with real-world scenarios and got drastically different results. Everyone who has an x51v should take note, and see how far this device has come. And lets focus our attention on the real problem, the x50v.

Oh and don't forget that this is a forum, and in most all forums you will always see a lot more post of problems. This is how people help each other with issues. You will never see a forum online where everyone posts about how awesome something is, or what a great feature this or that has. Thats life, i guess.
I have not had any huge issues with my x51v and wm5. Battery life sucked until I read about and did the fake server trick with activesync.
I also agree that Dell has done a real decent job at working with the x51 wm5 issues. But they have dropped the ball with the x50. Thankfully I found this site before ordering my x51v, and new what I was getting into ( I thought my axim would be a hunk o junk with all the negitive posts I read ) thankfully I thought wrong.
As for the stuck pixel, send it back. If you pay a lot of money for something it should be perfect. I have a dell laptop, and I went through 3 lcd screens until I found one that didn't have light leakage. Several reps tried to tell me I couldn't get it replaced, but a simple I don't care what you think, I bought this laptop to watch dvd's and I can't because the leakage was soo bad it washed out the bottom 2"s of the screen.
Only other thing you can try is to massage the screen right above the stuck pixel to see if it will switch... might not work with touch screens... but it was something that people have done to fix stuck pixels on lcd's.
