Hmm Synchronizing on multiple PCs with v.4.1

OK, I admit I'm new to the world of Axim, but 6 days have gone by and I'm not sending it back. It's too purty :).

But I do have some questions, and what Axim owner doesn't have _some_ questions? As noted in other posts I've made, my Axim is now at R06 which wasn't too difficult, and I've done the fake server deal... twice. I guess when you do the ROM you have to do it over? So now I have ActiveSync 4.1 on both my laptop at home and my work desktop. In the ActiveSync window, I'm getting a listing of two machines like this:

Windows PC2
Synchronized: Today 2:57 PM

Windows PC
Synchronized: Today, 9:09 PM

I'm assuming that the upper is my work PC and the lower is my laptop. How those names were chosen is beyond me and if I can change them to make more sense... tell me how . Anyway, below that, there's a underlined link that says "Attention required" and when I click it, a message pops up that says:

"Cannot synchronize with the Outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or this profile is password-protected. Please Open Outlook using the appropriate profile."

So is this "normal" for ActiveSync when you have a PDA sync'd to multiple machines at different times, or do I have a problem on my hands? When I attempt to manually sync by clicking "Sync" in the lower menu bar, that same basic message comes up.

To sort of compound my dilemma, I'm not sure the fake server trick is really working, because if I click the Axim off with the power button while still in the cradle, I swear it comes back on by itself after about 5 or 10 minutes. I forget where I picked up the instructions here, but wonder if the Axim should be in or out of the cradle when doing this hack?

One last thing... am I to understand that with ActiveSync 4.1 logging on to a wireless network/WiFi hotspot is no longer supported? That has to be a mistake... right?

Maybe I'm panicking and there's nothing abnormal about all this. I downloaded the contact manager thinking I might find good use for it but everyone tells me to fuggedaboudit and stick to basic outlook and perhaps something like Pocket Informant. All I want to do is get this smooth, so if anyone can calm me down, I'd appreciate it :D!

Ok, let's see... the sync names can be changed by opening activesync on the axim and going to Menu/Options and changing the name in the settings menu. Whichever computer you synced with first will be Windows PC. About the fake server trick, it only keeps Activesync on the Axim from running every 5 minutes when not in the cradle. Otherwise, Activesync on your PC will activate every 5 minutes when the axim is cradled. You can thank Microsoft for that one. Someone else said this on another thread but Activesync was programmed with basically these two words, "must sync" and it just repeats for infinity. The Outlook profile thing I'm not sure about, because I've synced with 2 PCs before with no problems. I due notice that from time to time Activesync just decides that it wants to have problems causing me to delete profiles and make new ones. Lastly, yes, syncing over wifi has been removed...at least for now we hope. I hope that answer your questions
