Radio/record button settings to wake in suspend mode
Re all,
I'm trying to disable both the radio and record buttons on the side of my X51, so they don't accidentally turn the unit back on while in suspend mode.
I've gone into System | Settings | Power On and removed the tick marks beside "if a program is pressed" and "if a record button is pressed".
Everything works fine an dandy, UNTIL I do a full power off, or the battery runs out. After I power on from one of those states, the tick marks I removed above have magically returned, and the blasted buttons are re-activated.
Has anyone else noticed this bizarre behaviour? Is there a fix?

That's odd.
Not sure what to do about that.
But how often and why are you doing a full power off or letting the battery die?
An option would be that little lock switch above the Wireless and Record buttons.
Actually, the PDAs are to be deployed to regular end users running a custom application. Unfortunately some users won't be using the unit frequently, and thus the battery ends up draining down.
I want to disable those side buttons to minimize the chances of the unit coming out of standby, and thus eating extra battery time.
As I noted, I made the correct settings changes in "Settings", but they keep reverting back if the battery goes dead, or if a full power off is done.
Seems like a bug to me.
Anyone else have suggestions/ideas?
TIA.

I just noticed that if one does a soft reset, the settings stay in tact. It's only if a full power off via the power button, OR the battery runs down or needs to be swapped out.
Is anyone seeing this?
I have 4 X51 (416mhz) units here for testing, that are ROM version A03, and hardware version A01.
TIA

Ditto, just noticed the same thing on an X51Mid and an X51V...
How bizzare...

i do a full power off at least once a week... just when activesync annoys me enough.
