I had to recently delete my partnership at home and at work due to some problems with AvantGo continually syncing in my work situation. I now connect my Aximx51v and it gooes directly to GUEST connection without ever asking if I want to set up a partnership. I have uninstalled/reinstalled AS 4.1 with no success. Has any one have any suggestions on how to fix other than hard resetting my Axim or other drastic desktop measures. Thanks!

This reply might have come of late ... but i finally found the CURE .... as I had also run into a dead end regarding this issue previously :approve:

Step #1 ... uninstalling ACTIVESYNC:

NEXT:

/ run regedit ... delete any instances of "activesync" that you can find.

/ also look for KEY:

HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services

if you see an instance of "GuestOnly" ... either delete the entry or modify it to reflect a value of "0" instead of "1" <<--- I found this entry by fluke and it was a value of "1"

deleting the "Windows CE Services" would be best ( as per the above link ) !!!

/ Reinstall Activesync and follow directions .... the partnership wizard will definitely prompt you this time !!! :approve:

you will also need "OUTLOOK" to be install at this time if not already done so...

be sure to add the "fake server trick" following all this too !!!

In a moment of clarity, i sorted out this annoying/"you wouldn`t like me when i am angry" situation in seconds.
Having tried everything previously and ensured that my firewall was not the culprit,i decided to look at Activesync on my Axim(X51v)
In the menu...Options, i deleted the Pc Name.As soon as i did this,Async(4.2) on my desktop went thru patnering no problem.
Everything is as they say "a okay"
