Question X51 hanging after soft reset - and ActiveSync issue

Dear Forum users,

I am experiencing really heavy problems with my Axim X51v. When I soft reset it, it boots normally - until I enter my password. Then it works for 2 seconds and then just freezes. You can not do anything. Even pressing the power button does not have an effect. But, sometimes, when I tap the Start Button and the GSPocketMagic Button all the time as soon as I have entered my password, it boots up normally. This just works sometimes.

Additionally, ActiveSync can not establish a connection to my PC anymore. My PC just says "not connected". I tried to delete my sync profile, but that did not help since I have the same issue even now.

These issues seem to be linked because I am experiencing this bug for some days, but in the beginning, after entering my password ActiveSync showed up and said "trying to connect" and it than froze. This could be avoided by constantly tapping the Start Buttons as mentioned above. It synchronized normally after it had booted up correctly. But now, ActiveSync does not work, too, at all.

This is a big problem since I can't sync my PDA and I even can't soft reset it without attempting 10 times which is necessary sometimes (thanks MS for these stable OS's).

Can you help me?

Thank You

MrMage

P.S.: I am using the german version of the Axim X51v.

Well, if you have a backup try a hard reset. Otherwise leave the battery out for a while..... Some people say it helps

Hmmm, I tweaked a bit in the ActiveSync folders of the Registry... and now it works. That's great ut it sux that MS can't get a well-working ActiveSync.

Hi!
You are not alone with Axiom x51v problems. I have this problems too; power button sometimes don't turn on device, often device can't recognize inserted CF card (even if read/write on it before 30 sec), delays after tapping icons, and soo on. I got new device from dealer but problems persist but not so often except CF problems.
ActiveSync make me problems only if I didn't disconnect USB cable during making my backup OS. then after restoreing it can't syncronise but can connect and transfer files. I use ActiveSync 4.1 and firmware upgrade A06. But Dell Axim x51v isn't pro devece; it isn't reliable so I'd like sell it and buy another brand.

Your problems seem to be different from mine. And I think that there are solutions for those problems here on the forums.
