PROBLEMS WITH WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER on x51v

I work for a television station and we all have the X51v. We want to be able to play commercials for client approval. The commercials are encoded with audio codec WMA 9.1 and Video Codec WMVideo 9. When we try to play them, they have all sorts of problems - such as starting off with a black screen with only audio, then video appears - and entire commercial stops and system locks up. Our Windows Media player is Version 10.1, Build 14366. Is it not backwards compatible with version 9 codecs? We really need help. We were supplied these axims for our sales process and it just does not work properly.

Take a look at "core pocket media player", far better than WMP, it´s free, more compatible and in my oppinion not as bloated as WMP (but I feel so about everything compared to MS products :)

it´s found here: http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about

Yes, I must agree with Saklander. WMP never seems to work. Its also way to clunky. TCPMP is so much better, and plays way more things...

Yep, get TCPMP with the accompanying codec files. Plays damn near everything. Now, how 'bout a ppc vlc player?
