I should have said, "I've done all the tweaks I can, specifically, increased the buffer size on the TCPMP player and set the processor to Max Performance in the settings." I have not installed any tweak aps, done any registry hacks, or modified anything else. I have attempted to simply do what any Dell rep would recommend I try before giving me some line about how they don't have any better answer for me.

I appreciate the remarks; I did not intent this to turn into the exchange it has. I was extremely upset last night when I ran into this issue. I know that I could have downloaded apps and messed around with different registry settings. My frustrations surround the difference in experience I had between my x50v and my friends x51v that was purchased at my recommendation.

Fortunately, my friend is not a power user, and presently is only using it to handle mundane tasks.

Thanks for letting me air out my rant last night.

- Bluetooth sucks
- Battery Drain issues (probably due to third party software)
- Upgraded x50v can't do VGA out
- Where has all the RAM gone?
- Software compatibility problems
- GAPI performance sucks on x51v (Just as it did when Dell released the x50v. It took the comunity to fix GAPI with the x50v, so I guess Dell expects us to pick up the pieces again)

I really wanted to run WM5 on my Dell Axim x50v and have installed it a few times and tried out the latest tweaks on Aximsite.

I like the softkeys, I like the way it looks, I like the improved Word and Excel and the adition of Power Point.

But, I use Softick Card Export alot and it doesn't work fully yet with WM5. I use VGA alot and it doesn't work on the upgraded x50v. My sd card never disappeared, but my Microdrive did on ocation. I like to game, but compatibility and performance is terrible with Dell's GAPI driver. I have a bluetooth headset and headphones which don't work on Dell's WM5 Pocket PCs. The CPU would periodically get maxed out at 624 MHz and the Pocket PC would get very sluggish. For me WM5 was useless, everytime I went back to 2003SE it always amazes me how much faster and smother and better it is.

I'm tired of people like you who obviosly don't know what their talking about saying it's perfectly fine because when you use it for fifteen minutes every moring to check your calender and your address book it works. If you actually used it, you would notice these problems. I just hope no one reads your post and is convinced to buy the piece of sh*t.
See all those probs you have you caused, dont know why you cant figure it out.x51v doesnt do anything unless you put something in it to start the problem,BT stack works, just not with all setups.ive never had sluggish anything with mine, fast and smooth and i do everything all the time.so should i complain because my battery wont last 18 hours like an idiot pod.I DONT THINK SO.Im happy camper with my x51v and my aximsite friends.

had my x51v for over a week now and it has been working fine,
play MCE converted movies through Media Player no probs,
play Divx through tmpc no probs
Surf the net using PIE and a wireless connection
download and upload files through BT to my Windows PC, P910 Mobile and my Apple Powerbook.
Access emails through my Exchange Server and sync files through my Windows PC
Access hotmail and use MSN IM on the same device.

It's fast, and very stable and agree that i don't have to soft reset that much at all, let alone hard reset. I used to soft reset my IPAQ rx3715, Dell X5, IPAQ 3630 much more than this device.

The only thing i can't really comment on is the BT issues, as like i have said above i use this only to transfer files between my BT devices.

I am very impressed with battery life, seems to really out perform my last PDA (rx3715).

From what i have seen, the IPAQ/Palm have their share of issues aswell. PDA's have always been a device you need some patience with, the dell is the most polished PDA i have used yet.
