Cool Battery Drain

OK .. I am back .. sold my X5 to my sis 2 yrs ago ...Now I have the
x51v, ROM A06

However, the battery keeps draining with power off ... in the case.

I am sure it it something I am doing ...with the new gadgetry of WIFI and BT
already in there.

Any suggestions for this issue? I have to push the reset button once I plug
it in to charge, just to get it to come to life. After that, no issues (so far).

Any other info I need to know about this new unit is also appreciated.

Thanks gang .. and glad to be back !!!!

Hi,

I've got a X51v and experience battery drain. I've applied the famous work-around explained in this forum but I could'nt tell if it helps. For sure, THIS IS NOT ENOUGH TO SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS.

Nevertheless, I think Iv'e managed to get rid of battery drain by desactivating the automatic connexion to the POP server unther Pocket Outlook (every 15 minutes).

Does it works with yours also?

Regards

Make sure your wireless and BT connections are turned off. I drained a battery overnight by leaving the wireless on once.

on the left side of your axim there are two buttons under the lock key, the top one with a wirless symbol on it is the button you are looking for. Hit this button once to see some on screen directions which say please hit the button again in the next 5 seconds to enable/disable wireless. I would try disabling the wireless and then turning it off and seeing what your power drain is like over night. Let me know what happens.

Reading thru other posts .. could this be related to the battery monitor
program? I installed the Omega One Batt Pack Lite
that came with the x51 ...

Battery drain

Hi,

I'm an experimentated user of Pocket PC. I use to have an Hewlett Packard 2210 during 3 years with windows Mobile 2003 without any problems.

I just bough an AXIM X51v French and after 6 days intensive tries, I still get battery drains, mostly overnight. I've called Dell support tree time and they could'nt help me.

I finally decided to ask my money back and re-ship the machine. They agree but I'm still waiting for their confirmation. I will buy an HP, no more Dell.

Good luck to those who decided to keep their Axim !

Battery Drain

After much testing and trying different things , for me anyway stopping Active sync from running before powering down stopped battery drain period.

Of course ensure bluetooth and WLAN are also off.

OK .. the Battery did NOT drain last night ...=
However, the x51 would no come on this morning ...
Instead of plugging in to power up ... I tried the
reset button on back to see if I had another issue ..
And of course I did .. the reset got the Axim on
and the battery had 77% remaining ..
This could very well be the initial problem ..
As a matter of fact, I have been out all day to
return to the Axim not wanting to come on .. again
Reset is my only option .. Battery @ 29%
It has only sat all day ...
Suggestions?

Also, yes please take off any battery monitoring tools. Any other today plugins running?

Texex: please confirm if my problem was like yours

After 8 hours of charging my Axim 51v, the battery drain to 97% after turn it on for 2 or 3 minute!!! doing absolutely nothing!! (like view calendar or contact). Then a turn my wifi on to received some email, about 10 with 3kb each one, after that I turn the wifi off the battery is already with 92%. So I used the axim maximum 5 or 8 minutes the battery was gone almost 10%.

Do think I doing the hard reset will resolve the problem?

I have done the fake server trick
