Cool X51v Activesynch 4.1 Problem

Although I have very successfully used MS ActiveSync 4.1 since I got my X51V last December, over the past couple of weeks I noticed that it no longer synched any files!

I hard booted, installed rom AO6 with no problem, reinstalled all the applications and I successfully synched my notes, I can not synch my calendar, contacts, or tasks. I am using Win XP Pro, Office 2003/Outlook 2003.

Anyone run into this? Is this because of the amount of data (large contact list), quite a few items on future calendar. But only a few tasks (less than 10).

I get this message: "ActiveSync encountered a problem on the desktop. Support code 85010014

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This should help explain things a bit...and probably make your head explode!

I get the 86000209 error sometimes. I have always been able to solve it by unchecking email for sync (which removes all outlook email from the axim), then re-checking email and syncing again.

I don't know why this works but it does.

Unchecking Email DOES work!!!

Hello all,

I just got my new Axim X51v Thursday and already ran into this "86000209 ERROR" this morning.

Reinstalling ActiveSync doesn't seem to help...however, Marceline's advice to unchecking email, then sync, then recheck the email option and then resyncing again -- DEFINATELY SOLVES THE PROBLEM.

Thanks much!

Detect & repair solved the 86000209 for me (recommendation from M$ site). Considering how often I us it, there should be a way to schedule Detect & Repair! At least this had an error code to work with, it's the mysterious "Attention Needed" requesters that really piss me off. Then there's the notes that after repeated sync's eventually become blank and the duplication of data... Yep, that AS/Outlook combo is sweeeet!

Yup, me too. Same problem as davecarr, support code 85010014. Won't sync my notes or my contacts. Everything is syncing fine. Running XP Pro with Office 2K, and ActiveStink 4.1. Microsoft's only solution to the problem is "Install ActiveSync 4.1 to resolve the issue"! What a bunch of Moroons!

Leave it to Microsoft to devise a way to make something as simple as syncing data between two devices utterly complicated and frustrating. Not to mention the tip of my stylus is getting worn out because of all the constant resets that is needed to keep this OS running!

If anyone has a suggestion as to how to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate it, and it would go a long way to help restore my faith in my expensive, and frustrating Axim.

What device do you have? Soft resets are not needed on an X51. Just make sure you have done the fake server fixes as recommended.
You say "Office 2K". Is that supported? I thought you needed Outlook 2002 or later for ActiveSync 4.1.

Thanks for the link. It's gold. Very useful indeed for coding error checking routine (function call). Can't thank you enough. :approve:
