Axim won't Sync and Computer BSOD

Ok, installed ActiveSync, but the first two times I tried to sync, the computer went straight to a blue screen with white writing. Now, it just twirls and never syncs. What did I do to it? How can I fix it?

Which Axim? which version of activesync? which version of windows? which version of Outlook? what firewall? what anti-virus software? what trouble-shooting guides have you read and followed (e.g.: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...rtsetup.aspx)?

I have the Axim x51v AO6 with Activesync 4.1, windows XP (brand new dell 1505, btw) Outlook 2002, Zone Alarm, but I turned it off according to Microsoft's help page, PC-cillin for the Anti-virus. I followed the Microsoft help page for the activesync, and it eventually connects (about 1 out of every 4 tries) but when it tries to detect changes, the Axim shuts off before they ever sync up. Granted, it swirls for about 10 mins with nothing happening. I haven't even gotten past the swirlie.
