big difference ... if you don't know ... here's what happened:
a
"soft-reset" is like a reboot ... it won't wipe out your info & programs ... etc
(just poke the hole at the back of the device)

"hard-reset" .. will restore it to factory settings .... anything you'd installed after that ... once hard-reset ... it will be gone !!!
(same as above ... only this time ... you have to hold down the power button along with the above ... handle with care !!)
to recap:
Hibernate ... is "standby mode" ( settings are within "power" options ...
and not the same as FULLY OFF )
soft reset is like a reboot .... fresh RAM ... run peppier ... etc ...
hard reset wipes out everything and put it back to factory default !!!!
