Turn on X51v, screen is QVGA with white horizontal lines then hangs have to soft rest

I bought a new x51v few weeks ago, I have seen this problem 3 times!

Sometimes when I turn on it (off dock and battery is fully charged), the screen just goes to QVGA resolution (maybe even lower), then after few seconds, I can see some letters on the screen. As if you use magnifying glass to read a small area of the screen. I will take a picture of this when it happens again.

Also, the left bottom corner of the screen is white but the other areas of sort of light bule

Let me repeat, the problem happens during startup and it doesn't display the "DELL" logo and just hangs.

anyone seen this prob before?

my ROM is A06

It is still within one month after the purchase, if I call dell ask for a replacement, will they send me a brand new one or refurbished one?

Thanks

yeah had mine from xmas loaded with ao2 now ao4 and my screen has crashed as you describe. only occasionally and not worth returning to dell. not happened since I downloaded core tcpmp and use this instead of wmp better software and no crashes. seems it might be video problem depending on codec and windows media player

I don't have an X51v, but I find my screen goes funny if I power off without properly closing a graphics/memory intensive program. If I close the program properly (3rd party utility), it never happens.

might also have to do with something you have loaded on the today screen. I believe the 'new' exchange is 21 days but you might have to call/chat with dell to see. try unloading your today screen and see if it helps. some of the programs out are not real friendly yet with wm5

Your x51v crashes during playing video files? Mine is having problems during the startup.

No, I meant that if I power off without closing the programs, I will see the funny screen when I power up after.
