I haven't tried it yet, but a beta copy of this new version has just been made available from Microsoft.

It seems that it supports devices from Pocket PC 2002 through to the latest Windows Mobile 5.0 devices, and includes a number of fixes as well as a USB Troubleshooter for sorting out issues when connecting your device to your PC. Fixes include better support for Norton Anti-virus software and how proxy servers are handled when accessing the Internet via the PC.

Of course, if AS 4.1 is working for you, there is a good case of "if it aint broke, don't fix it"!

using it now. seems ok so far. no obvious fixes seen yet. But it did work the first time I tried it, found the ax and sync'd fine. Seemed a little slow loading it and because of this i actually killed it once before it finished loading because i thought it was stuck. waited longer the second time and it worked fine.

V4.2 is BETA software. That means its not yet fully tested. If you want to test it, please do so as that could help many opther people. However, if you have a working ActiveSync V4.1 I would recommend that you don't try it.

If you have a non-working AS V4.1, then it would be well worth trying it.

If you try it and it works, or it doesn't work, please feed back the results to the Microsoft site, so that the rest of us who are waiting for the actual release can have a better product :D. Thanks.
