I bought a USB connector for my x51v, to use at home. It has been working fine for a few weeks. Now suddenly my screen brightness flickers. I change the brightness levels to be the same if it is on battery or external power and the flickering stops. So it seems like the Axim is recognizing the USB connector power, then not, then it is, then not... flickers several times a second.
Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions? (I cant try my original connector till Im in the office tomorrow.)
The usb port on your PC doesn't have enough power to charge & sync @ the same time... mine does the same thing. Power the ax off for a while on the cable, let it get close to full charge, then it should work fine.

Thanks for any help you may have?

I had the same thing happen with a third party USB connector.
USB typically can't supply sufficient current to run your Axim. The flickering indicates that your Axim is switching between external power (USB) and internal power (battery). Allow your PDA to charge fully before using USB as an external source.

I end up with connectivity issues when I use any other USB port other than one directly on my system.
The USB cable I use has a port on it to attach the power converter. Perhaaps another similar cable and power charger for home will take care of all your problems..
I have been wondering about using a powered usb hub to get more power to the Axim anyone try this?
Most powered USB hubs only supply 500mhr per port, like your computer. I do have a Targus Universal docking station that has two USB ports that supply 1 amp each, but that still may not be enough to stop flicker when the battery is very low.

I guess I am wondering if you get a power adapter that puts out more power than the one that comes with the hub or ??? what if you rewire the hub so that the power from say 4 ports is going to one???
