About once a week, my x51v won't sync with my desktop after redocking into the cradle. If I reboot, it will start working again, which is fine, but somewhat annoying. I can fortell when the problem will occur when I undock the x51v (usually at the end of the previous day when I head home) because the sound notification for undocking will be delayed by about 30 seconds after the PDA is removed. The next day, it won't sync and the Local Area connection is listed as disabled and can't be enabled.

I have tried some of the tricks for unplugging the USB cable and reconnecting with no luck. The Dell support said I needed to reinstall Activesync, which I did, but it did not stop the problem. I can always reboot when it occurs, but that shouldn't be required.

What version of ActiveSync are you using? (4.0, 4.1, 3.8?) If you soft reset the axim will it sync, or does it only work after rebooting the computer? How long do you wait until you decide it won't sync?

well for me, if docking cant work, i'd log off and re-log on, usually works

I went to microsoft and got activesync 4.2 update, no more problems!!:approve:

This is Beta right? let us know how things continue to go. I'm on Active Sync 4.1 and sometimes, I get blue screen of death. I have rarely gotten that kind of thing -- so this Active Sync must be evil.

Yes, ActiveSync V4.2 is still in Beta.
However, I haven't heard of anyone having problems with it that they didn't have with V4.1. (Not that I am an authority!!, just a reader of web-sites).

It only seems to work if I reboot the computer (although I haven't tried logging out, the next time I have problems I will try that). I am using AS 4.1, but it sounds like some people have had success with the 4.2 Beta. When I get a free moment I will try that.

The worst part is that I have to do a hard reboot of my desktop when the glitch occurs. If I forget, my computer hangs over the weekend when I shutdown and I don't find out until MOnday morning.
