x50 is screwed.... should i go for an x51 re-furb?

well, my x50's (low) screen is screwed up, and it costs the same to get it fixed as it does to get a refurb x51. so i can get a newer pda for about the same price.... any input? (sufficient funds are available)

thx,
nathan

i thought there were problems with the x51, so i wasn't sure..... i had been running wm5 on my x50 for a while, so i assume those are the same problems.

It's not exactly the same. I think the X51 is (way more) stable than the X50 with WM5.

Get a x51v. You'll get not only a speed boost, but a nice VGA screen. If your gonna spend that kinda money, you might as well throw in a few more bones and get the next step up. Plus I was seeing some hellacious deals on the x51v's. My uncle just picked one up for $350 with an aluminum case, extra 2200 battery, and a few other addons BrandNEW. (I think he also had a 3yr warranty.)

I paid $375 on Amazon.com for a regular new x51v with default accessories. I'm sure you can find one either "Almost New" here on the forums for cheap, or a refurb from an authorized dealer like "Amazon" so you can get the 1yr warranty.

Get the X51V refurb. It will probably be one that the prior person did not do "fake server" fix, and sent it back as "defective" which it wasn't. The X51V is a great unit.

I'd say get the refurb. Sounds like the situation is right for it.

Unless you only do the most basic stuff, the VGA screen is well worth the extra $. After trying it, I'll never own a PDA with anything less.
