I have had NO problems with active sync installing programs and copying files except Sync would take forever or say it was syncing and it had nothing to sync anyway.
Not trusting active sync I thought I would try one thing at a time. I finally decided to try and sync my contacts and recieved the error 0x80072EE2 on my Axim X51v in active sync. All programs locked on the Axim and had to do a soft reset. DAM I though here we go. Did some quick research and said hey it must be a security issue. I disabled the Winblows firewall (I have a hardware firewall/router anyway) and bang, Bob's your uncle all synced fine and fast. Yee haa. For some odd reason I also had to turn on WLAN.

Hopes this helps some of you having issues

I will be gettin my Axim Soon...! i will try it out as u said... :) and i'm happy to see that u've configured the Axim and i'm keeping my hands crossed so that my x51v also get's connected in a breeze... :)

The firewall issues is well know and in fact the Windows AS web page suggests how to over come this with lists or fixes for known firewalls.

Whew, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Checked the Windows firewall and it magically had checked off to not allow exceptions. Uncheck and sync is ok.
