When I first got my X51v, it worked fine for over 2 months before the first rapid battery drain occurred. At that time, the 'fix' that worked for me was not leaving my sd card in place. I actually moved all my third party programs into main memory so there wasn't any problem with everything functioning (I don't use that many add-on programs and I still have about half of the storage space available on the PPC itself). I used the sd card for files and just inserted it when I needed access.

I did the A04 upgrade and was able to leave the card in place and also installed A06 when it was released. However, plenty of people still had the problems with these ROMs so I decided it was a good idea to do the fake server trick when it was reported as a solution. It doesn't create any problems that I'm aware of and since the first 'battery drain' episode took several weeks to occur the first time, I decided 'better safe than sorry' was a good course of action.

I did the "trick" if nothing else to be part of the group. I don't notice any difference. But thank you for the heads up!!!!

The only thing now is a woman constantly tells me my "memory is low"

Bigcape, if you have been surfing the internet, blank your IE cache. From Pocket Internet Explorer, tap Tools, Options, Memory (tab), Delete Files (button). This should help.
I wonder if AO8 is going to come with "Fake Server Trick" already done... hmmmm....

And yeah, Ike is D.A. Man.

PocketBrain,

Thank you. I actually used MemMaid to move the cache to the storage card.

I have been doing some research but I have not found what actually gets stored in RAM as opposed to ROM in order to do some house cleaning.???
