Aximsiteactivesyncicon Active Sync on strike

Buying the X51v is the worst mistake I ever made. first of all, each time I turn it on display an error message "program Files\FunkSoftware\OdysseyClient\OdClientCE.exe" couldn't be found and the PDA frozes for about a minute or two, and after that I can used.
I chat withe Dell support in many occasions, I even download and installed version 5.0 OS 5.1.10 but the problem persist.
Now two weeks ago, it just stopped allowing the sync process, Active sync reconizes the PDA but simply stays in the conection fase and never update anything.
I have done everything I could think on: soft reset, hard reset, tried Active Sync 4.0 and Active Sync 4.1
I would apreciate any sugestions or help.

Have you applied the fake server trick:

And to remove Odyssey from startup simply, go to Windows\Startup in File Explorer, then tap and holdon "odclientce.exe", then select Delete.

Hi tuttyman

Sounds like gigi has the fix for problem 1.
As for why activesync quits working, there are a few. A search through the activsync form should keep you busy for days......

This has happend to me and when it does: First I just leave it in the sycnc mode overnight. It seems to work itself out, or at least come up with an Action Required list of the problem files.

Annother way out is to delete all files out of the sync directory on both devices then soft reset the axim and reboot the pc. Run activesync.

The final I will offer at the moment is I have seen this if you are syncing contacts with pictures and the pictures are not on the axim. I fixed this by putting the pictures on the axim then restarting the sync.

I think the Odyssey problem is finished thanks to your advise:approve: , but the "fake server trick" didn't work, so I'm still stuck with that problem

Have you tried disabling firewalls? That seems to be the biggest problem with ActiveSync 4.x.

Thanks GIGI:approve: , you are an angel, it did work. I'd my firewall programed to allow ActiveSync to run, but for any unknown reason it reset itself, and since the 8th of may I could't sync

Have the same problem and after hours with my IT and dell we all think it is issue of my Dell D400 Latitude Laptop. And no one has the answer, only answer is that I need to buy a new Laptop so now getting the D620.
