I am having trouble with my 6mo old X51v shutting itself down and reporting the battery was opened. Are there any fixes, short of taping it shut?

Thank you, Gigi. With a little experimentation, I found the switch inside. (You can hold it down with your stylus to turn the unit on with the battery cover off.) I have inserted a small piece of cardboard (thin) to add pressure to it, and will see how this works.

that should do it for you. alternatives: a layer or two of scotch tape on the end of the legs or a drop of nail polish let it dry completely before you use the door. welcome to the site!

Guys, this Axim is 6 month old. dell will change it immediately. I had the same problem and a call with Dell solved the problem.
