Strange behavior of WiFi icon

When I turn on the WiFi connection, the WiFi on icon, i.e. the little X'mas tree on top of the screen will show and then it will start to connect with the halo and the arrows start moving, then I will have the connection. But it is not always the case. For the last 2 days, the X'mas tree never comes up and I cannot connect, however, I can see that there are other WiFi broadcasting with poor signal but not mine. This happened to me before, and if I waite long enough, the X'mas tree will come and I have a connection.

Any suggestions?

I find that sometimes, after turning wifi off and the "christmas tree icon going back to the two arrows and cross, I find I cannot get the christmas tree icon to appear even though the button on the screen says wifi is on.

If the christmas tree icon does not appear, my x51v will not connect even when I have independantly confirmed that a signal is present.

To get connected (and have the christmas tree icon to appear) I have to fully power off the x51v and fire it up again - not much help if yours isn't Mobile 5 I realise.

Soft reset. Also try resetting your router, if other WiFi hotspots are showing up in the list, and not yours.
Also, it would help us to help you if you were to include your PDA model and operating system (either by filling that blank in your personal info, entering it into your "My PDA" or by stating it in your post).

Thank you very much, will go and update my PDA info. College work is killing me. BTW, before I do that, here it is:

X51V, 624MH, 1G SD, Rhino Case, MW5 and V6.0 (may be 6.0. something).

Thanks.

Update: Did a full power off and on again. Problem is fixed. Another fix is the unused Oydesy icon is gone too! The Oydesy might be one reason for this problem. Another thing is I suppose we have to do a full power off once in a while to clear up the RAM, much like Win98 or something that we need to re-boot our desktop once a day to have it run properly.

Thanks everyone.
